Stress and Anger Management Classes

This course teaches the techniques of Stress and Anger Management.  The course is designed to teach you how to better manage the stresses in your life.  It does not attempt to eliminate stress altogether; as we need a certain amount of stress in our lives in order to achieve our goals.  Too much stress, however, can lead to feelings of anger, illness or unnecessary restrictions in our lives.  This course teaches you how to react to stress in a way that is more productive to you than ways you may be reacting currently; for example, to withdraw from a situation, to get angry, to shout, to scream or any other behavior which does not give you a successful outcome to a situation.

Today, more people suffer from stress than ever before.  We expect to manage the major life changes and crises, such as marriage, parenthood, unemployment, bereavement, overwork or ill health with ease.  For some, stress may not be related to such specific events, but may have developed in early childhood as an anxiety response to difficult situations.  This response may have been carried into adult life as the characteristic way of dealing with difficulties.

Stress affects us in many different ways.  Some people develop stress related illnesses, such as asthma, hypertension, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome and a host of others. Some suffer from high levels of anger and are easily irritated.  Some suffer from anxiety, panic attacks and others with obsessive or compulsive thoughts and behavior.  It is estimated that one in four people suffer from anxiety at some point in their lives and it is one of the most common symptoms treated by Doctors in the Western world.

Stress and Anger are the feelings we can experience when events in our world are not going according to our plans or rules. It's as if we have an inner idea of how things, events and people should be - and when things don't ‘go to plan’ we get angry or stressed.

Managing stress and anger successfully can make the positive difference in many relationships, both with family, friends and at work. This course has been designed to help you understand anger and stress, and how to manage them better.

The course is held over six consecutive weeks and attendance on all weeks is crucial for the effectiveness of the course.  Therefore, to make attendance easier we have allocated a different evening each week to make the course easier to fit in with other commitments you may have.  You will have small assignments to carry out between each class – nothing too strenuous, just keeping a short log of events and running through the relaxation techniques.  We limit the number of people per class so that your trainer gets to know you on a 1 – 1 basis.  You will form close bonds with others on the course and you can freely discuss issues without fear or intimidation.  There will be NO ROLE PLAY.  All we ask is that you attend with an open mind, do the homework and look forward to a more positive and happier you.

The total cost for 13 hours of therapy and learning is £180.00 (inc VAT).  If you are a business or if your employer is willing to pay for these classes, we can offer a pro-forma invoice.  Payment is due prior to course commencement.  We accept cash, cheque or can send a PayPal invoice for card payment.
